Part two: People unaware

In the street, there is a wide range of human activity, and street photography, is one of the standard working procedures. Nothing is pre-planned, you rely completely on your powers of observation and anticipation, and on luck, to find interesting images from ordinary situations. This is urban life, of course, but there is a consistency to it around the world, even if the people themselves may be different.

The emphasis is on three things - being unobtrusive, spotting potential pictures in advance and shooting quickly. The idea of being unobtrusive rather than drawing attention to yourself is so that the people in the shot will not be looking towards the camera or otherwise reacting to you.

Anticipating a shot is down to staying alert and constantly checking potential views, bearing in mind focal length.
