Exercise: making figures anonymous

For this exercise I am to deliberately make the person or people unrecognisable and, as a result, less prominent and considering the techniques of small and many, facing away, in silhouette, partly obscured or motion blur. Also to remember, a successful image will be one that is primarily about the place, but in which one or more figures play a subsidiary role to show scale and give life - to show that it is in use.

Facing away - this little boy was racing up the stairs ahead of his family and looked down just at the right moment, his face is obscured and thus anonymity maintained, there is slight motion blur seen on his had, I feel this adds to the image, confirming his movement up the stairs. The particular place in this image is the staircase of a large building demonstrated by the additional staircase showing at the right of the foreground, I feel the images gives life to the staircase and demonstrates it's use.

In silhouette -  shot from darkness towards the bright background, communicates person, not personality. The particular place in this image was actually the view from a hotel and was taken whilst waiting for the lift to arrive, but what the images shows is a room with an intended view, the large square window allowing the viewer to take in the city scape, demonstrating intended use.
